A free workshop for New Zealand mums, helping you prepare emotionally for birth, baby, and the transition into motherhood.
When we prepare for birth, we often focus on the practical. What to pack, how labour works, what to expect physically. But one of the most important parts of the journey often gets left out: preparing emotionally for birth and the transition into motherhood.
Emotional Preparedness for Birth and Baby is a free, supportive workshop for New Zealand mums designed to help you build confidence, resilience, and realistic expectations as you prepare to welcome your baby.
Whether you’re a first-time mum or growing your family, this session gives you a safe space to explore the emotional realities of pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum period. You’ll leave feeling more informed and ready for the changes ahead.
Meet Your Facilitator

This workshop is facilitated by Liora Noy, an Obstetric Postnatal Nurse, Lactation Consultant, Parenting and Postnatal Depression Educator.
Liora is passionate about supporting families through one of life’s biggest transitions. Drawing on her extensive professional experience supporting parents through pregnancy, birth, feeding, recovery, and early parenthood, she provides practical, evidence-based guidance in a warm, compassionate, and judgement-free environment.
What You’ll Learn
This workshop focuses on the emotional and mental wellbeing side of preparing for birth and early motherhood. It’s an area that often doesn’t get the attention it deserves in traditional antenatal education.
Topics include:
- Understanding the emotional transition to parenthood
- Setting realistic expectations for birth and the postpartum period
- Recognising signs of perinatal distress and postpartum depression
- Building emotional resilience and coping strategies
- Strengthening your support network before baby arrives
Why This Matters
Research shows that emotional wellbeing during pregnancy and the postpartum period has a significant impact on both mums and babies.
By understanding what to expect emotionally and developing strategies to support your wellbeing, you’re more likely to feel confident and ready for the challenges and joys of early parenthood.
This workshop isn’t about creating a perfect birth or parenting experience. It’s about helping you feel ready for whatever your journey looks like.
